Alsid achieves 250% YOY growth and global momentum as v3.0 revolutionizes attack detection

Business exceeds Q3 targets despite headwinds as it continues momentum from H1 2020

Paris, 14 October, 2020 – Cybersecurity software provider Alsid has built on its positive first half of 2020 by adding a strong Q3 performance to beat targets globally, as it gears up to release v3.0 of Alsid for Active Directory.

In Q3, as in Q2 before it, the business continued to outperform expectations in every country in which it is currently operating – despite the continuing challenging trading conditions caused by Covid-19. Alsid has recorded 250% year-on-year growth for Q3 as it closed deals across the full span of its global footprint, including the strategically important regions of Asia and the US.

As well as adding new customers and revenues, Alsid has again experienced zero customer churn in Q3. This is a point of pride for the team, but more importantly it is proof of the relevance of the company’s solution and its ability to deliver strong ongoing value to enterprises.

Game changer

Alsid for Active Directory v3.0 achieves what the industry said was impossible: advanced threat detection without any agents – a truly revolutionary feat. As well as detecting numerous AD-specific attacks and linking AD changes to malicious actions, Alsid v3.0 offers enhanced AD threat detection without the need for agent deployment or the surrender of any privileged rights. New and existing customers will benefit from numerous original features, including:

  • The ability to expose all major attacks for each domain within the AD infrastructure, including Golden Tickets, Brute Force, Password Spraying, DCSync, and DCShadow
  • The ability to visualize each threat through a comprehensive and accurate attack timeline
  • A complete and true real-time detection engine, with native integrations to SIEM/SOC environments
  • Seamless integrations with Splunk and QRadar to deliver security-specific and accurate AD alerts. No false positives and ‘no-log’ alerts are caught by Alsid for AD
  • Direct platform mapping with Mitre Attack security standards, providing deep-dive descriptions for each incident detected.

Still a complete approach to proactive AD security and running either on-premise or in the cloud (depending on customer requirements), v3.0 will prove to be a game-changer for admins and security professionals who understand first-hand the operational and security risks that agents have on the entire IT infrastructure.

Smells like team spirit

Also, in Q3 2020, Alsid was named in SINET’s 2020 awards as one of the 16 most innovative and compelling cyber security companies in the world. SINET connects senior private and government security pros with solution providers, buyers, researchers and investors, evaluating security technologies for technical and security excellence plus a strong business model. Judges are selected from leadership positions within major security vendors, government and venture capital and investment firms. As a 2020 winner, Alsid joins previous SINET 16 winners like PhishMe, Bitglass, Skyhigh Networks, Netskope and CrowdStrike.

This quarter Alsid also earned “Great Places to Work” recognition by being named as one of Europe’s best employers at its first attempt. With over 1.3 million votes cast, the survey is the biggest of its kind and aims to recognize leading employers from all sectors which go above and beyond to look after their employees and provide a supportive and stimulating work environment.

Bigger deals bouncing back

The impact of Covid-19 still hangs over all businesses at this stage of the pandemic. While Alsid’s performance to date has remained buoyant, the economic climate has meant that some bigger deals have inevitably been pushed back. Alsid’s view is that some of these deals are warming up again, and as such the business expects to record more sizeable deal closures before the end of 2020.

Emmanuel Gras, CEO and co-founder, Alsid, comments: “Of course certain things have been more difficult because of Covid and we’ve missed meeting up with our customers, partners and prospects at events. But just as Les Assises de la Sécurité is happening in Monaco this week, so I believe we are starting to see signs of recovery in some of the bigger deals the team was working on before Covid. These deals never really went away: companies just hit ‘pause’ as they tried to understand the situation.

“But if you know that there are security issues with your Active Directory – as is the case for the vast majority of large enterprises – those problems weren’t magically fixed when Covid came along. We don’t want to give anyone nightmares, but in fact the opposite is probably true and it will be even more of a mess now. Combine this with the strength of our vision and product offering, and you start to understand why we are still seeing strong global demand for what we do and continuing to convert sales and marketing momentum into revenue globally,” explains Gras.

Adding some unicorn sparkle

Q3 also saw Alsid appoint Jean-Louis Baffier as its new global managing director, overseeing the company’s global operations to continue driving Alsid’s growth and customer success. Jean-Louis joined Alsid from US search-as-a-service unicorn Algolia, where he served as Chief Revenue Officer as the company tripled its revenue in two years and secured $110m in series C investment. Added to previous experience in senior roles at Microsoft, Salesforce and Oracle, it’s not hard to see why Alsid chose him to help drive its next phase of growth worldwide.

With Jean-Louis Baffier now in-role, Q3 also saw the relocation of Alsid CEO and co-founder, Emmanuel Gras, and CMO Jérôme Robert, to the United States to continue driving Alsid’s growth stateside in a vital market for the company.

Founded in France in 2016 by Emmanuel Gras and Luc Delsalle, Alsid has grown quickly after securing €13m in Series A investment in 2019 – a record for a European cybersecurity Series A round.
